Former President Goodluck Jonathan has taken to social media to commiserate with the family of late televangelist and founder, Synagogue Church of All Nations, Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua.

The 57-year-old preacher, who was renowned for his philanthropy and healing miracles, died on Saturday after a church service.

As earlier reported by The PUNCH, the church headquarters located in Ikotun, Lagos State was swarmed with mourners and inconsolable worshipers on Sunday.

Jonathan, who posted on his verified Facebook page, said, “TB Joshua was a devout man of God who served God and humanity with relentless passion. He was a man of sound doctrine, meek and faithful to his call and passion of reconciling men to God.

“As a Christian leader, TB Joshua and his ministry amplified Christ in faith, love and charity, positively impacting the lives of many Nigerians, Africans and millions of people across the world.”

The former President also prayed that God would grant the entire family, church, and followers of the late cleric peace and strength to cope with the loss.

Tributes have continued to pour in as Nigerians express their sorrow on the death of the cleric.

Popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, took to her verified Instagram page to share her tribute with a post featuring a picture of herself in tears.

She wrote, “Mostly, it is a loss that teaches us about the worth of things…I know the feeling of grief and it feels like fear.

“Black Sunday. RIP to the kind prophet / a man who gave to those in need. Prophet T.B Joshua.”

Also, popular Twitter influencer, Dr Olufunmilayo, credited TB Joshua for always reaching out to the poor.

He said, “TB Joshua was someone who actually touched the lives of many poor people. He was one pastor who actually reached out to poor people and always tried to help them. It’s so sad to read TB Joshua is dead. It’s actually quite sad. He was only 57.”

Strategy Expert and Influencer, Ayo Bankole Akintujoye, also wrote, “I actually was never a fan of TB Joshua, the same way I’m no fan or dogmatic follower of any religious leader, Nigerian or otherwise. But I know for a fact that TB Joshua did sponsor many of his followers for hospital treatments. This doesn’t take away from his miracle experiments.”
