IGP, POLAS support treatment for drug, alcohol abuse
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr James Oppong-Boanuh, and the Police Ladies Association (POLAS), have donated assorted items worth more than GHS 30,000 and a cash amount of GHS10,000 to the St Francis Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre, at Ashiaman.
The items included 50 pieces of mattresses, assorted food items, detergents, toiletries and hand sanitisers.
The donation was led by COP Mrs Beatrice Vib-Sanziri, Director-General MTTD and POLAS President.
Also present were ACP Rev. Mrs Laurencia W. Akorli, Director of the Community Policing Unit and Chief SUPOL Mrs Susuana Adjei, Adjei Kojo District Commander and other police ladies from national police headquarters and Tema police regional command.
The items and cash were received by Rev. Fr. Eric Nketia Kabenlah, Director of the Centre and Walter Damien Asooh, Manager of the Centre, both of whom expressed profound gratitude to the Police Administration and POLAS for the donation.
