The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Munkata Mubarak, has assured officers and personnel of Ghana’s security services of the government’s unwavering commitment to improving their welfare, with particular focus on housing, morale and logistics in the coming year.

Mr. Mubarak gave the assurance when he joined the Acting Minister for Defence, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, at the Joint Security Services Route March held at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra.

Addressing the gathering, the Interior Minister reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue the retooling of the security services, noting that sustained investment in equipment and logistics remains critical to enhancing operational efficiency and national security.

“The welfare of our officers and personnel remains a top priority for the government.

We are committed to addressing key concerns, especially housing, morale and logistics, as part of broader efforts to strengthen the security services,” he said.

The Joint Security Services Route March, organised by the Ghana Armed Forces in collaboration with other security agencies, was aimed at reassuring the public of the collective readiness of the security services to maintain peace and order before, during and after the festive season.

Mr. Mubarak commended the men and women of the various security agencies for their dedication, professionalism and sacrifice in the service of the nation, stressing that their commitment remains vital to Ghana’s peace and stability.

He noted that the event once again demonstrated the shared resolve of the security services to protect the country and safeguard the safety of all citizens, particularly during periods of heightened public activity.

The route march brought together personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghana Police Service and other allied security agencies, highlighting inter-agency cooperation in ensuring national security.
