Interior Minister opens Borteyman police station to boost community security

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed Borteyman Police Station in the Greater Accra Region, marking a significant step toward enhancing security and law enforcement in the area.
Describing the project as a milestone in the collective effort to protect lives, property, and uphold the rule of law, the Minister expressed gratitude to the Ghana Police Service, residents of Borteyman, and all stakeholders whose collaboration brought the initiative to fruition.
The newly inaugurated facility is expected to serve not only as a hub for police operations but also as a centre for community engagement.
According to the Minister, the station will enable officers to respond swiftly to emerging security challenges while fostering stronger ties with residents to address local concerns more effectively.
He encouraged community members to actively support the work of the police by sharing timely information and helping cultivate a culture of peace and safety.
The officers stationed at Borteyman were also charged to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, demonstrating dedication, respect, and openness in their service to the public.
Echoing this call, Tema Regional Police Commander DCOP Barnabas Nasumong assured residents that the station would operate with integrity and a firm commitment to addressing the security needs of the community through close collaboration with the public.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of the Interior, the Inspector General of Police, senior police officials, and members of the Borteyman community.
