Accra: Ridge roads to be closed for relocation of utility lines
The Ministry of Roads and Highways, acting through the Department of Urban Roads, has announced the closure of some roads to traffic at the Ridge enclave.
The closure of the roads is to “enable utility providers to relocate utility lines to pave the way for the reconstruction” of the affected roads at the Ridge enclave.
The roads expected to be closed to traffic include the “Jomo Kenyatta Road, between Gamal Abdul Nasser Road and College of Physicians and surgeons.”
They will be closed on Saturday, 6 and Sunday, 7; Saturday, 13 and Sunday, 14 November 2021.
Also, the Castle Road, between the African Liberation Circle and Haile Selassie road will be closed on Saturday, 13 and Sunday, 14; Saturday, 20 and Sunday, 21 November 2021.
Gamel Abdul Nasser Road, between Jomo Kenyatta and Castle road, will, however, be closed “permanently.”
The ministry entreated the general public and motorist “to follow the traffic management signs that will be placed at vantage points on these roads.”
