Kasoa: Army man shot dead in land fight

A military officer in his late 30s has been fatally shot in the Gomoa East District of Ghana's Central Region.
The incident occurred in front of the Millennium City Police station, where the officer and two colleagues had gone to address a land dispute.
The deceased officer, accompanied by two others, was attempting to resolve a conflict over land ownership, which had been met with resistance from alleged landguards. Despite lodging a complaint with local authorities, the officers encountered opposition from the Gyasehene of Millennium City, Benlord Ababio, who reportedly fired upon their vehicle as they attempted to proceed to the Divisional Police Command. One officer was killed in the attack, while the others escaped unharmed.
Eyewitnesses report the swift arrest of the Gyasehene following the incident.
