MP donates to Abeka royal palace ahead of Homowo festival
In celebration of the upcoming Homowo festival in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Patrick Yaw Boamah, the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, has made a significant donation to the Abeka Mantse, Nii Boi IV, and the Abeka Royal Palace.
The donation ceremony took place on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Abeka Mantse Palace in the Okaikwei North Municipality.
The donated items included ten bags of maize, four gallons of cooking oil, 50 packs of water, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages.
The event featured a brief pouring of libation, during which Nii Boi IV emphasized the importance of peaceful conduct during the upcoming elections.
He urged the youth to resist any attempts to use them to incite violence, stating, "Don’t allow yourself to be used as cannon fodder and avoid inciting violence before, during, and after the elections."
He also blessed the MP and wished him success in the upcoming elections.
Mr. Yaw Boamah explained that the donation was intended to promote peace and unity in the Okaikwei Central Constituency.
"Our traditional rulers are our source of pride, hope, dignity, heritage, and unity, and I am here to ask for your prayers and blessings during the upcoming elections," he stated.
