Mahama thanks outgoing Japanese ambassador for Ghana service
Former President John Dramani Mahama has commended the outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, Tsutomu Himeno, for his services to the country.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, 6 November 2021, the former President, described the outgoing ambassador’s service to the country as exceptional.
He stated: “I had the opportunity to bid my friend, His Excellency Tsutomu Himeno of Japan, a happy farewell at the end of his tenure in Accra”.
Mr Mahama added: “Thank you for your services to Ghana and for helping build on the diplomatic and developmental relations between our two countries.”
The ambassador arrived in Ghana in 2017.
On his arrival in Ghana, Mr Himeno, said: “Ghana, the country of Freedom and Justice, and Japan are united by our shared values such as democracy and the rule of law.”
Both countries have enjoyed good relations over the years.
