Maiden GRIDLASS Sheroes award held
The Ghana Grid Company Ladies Association (GRIDLASS) has launched the Sheroes awards scheme.
The award, meant to acknowledge and reward the inspirational performance and accomplishments of the association’s members was held on Wednesday, 8 March 2023.
The award is expected to be an annual event, President of GRIDLASS, Azara Amadu, announced when the association marked International Women’s Day (IWD) at the Alisa Hotel, Tema, March 8, 2023.
The maiden edition recognised Ing Nicholina Yembilah, for the GRIDLASS Shero Award.
Ing. Yembilah was celebrated for 23-years of work beginning from the Volta River Authority (VRA) to GRIDCo.
Ing. Yembilah has chalked many successes in each role as Project Manager, Manager, and now Director.
She was chosen for the maiden Sheroes Award due to her passion for mentoring young women in her team, her commitment to the cause of educating young girls in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and supporting the development of young girls in her hometown, Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
Ing. Yembilah, currently the Director of Procurement, thanked GRIDLASS for the recognition.
She further thanked those who supported and mentored her throughout her career journey.
