My decision to carry out road works was borne out of necessity – Nahinso chief after being arrested for unauthorised road repairs

The Chief of Nahinso in the Ashanti Region, Nana Addo Boaman, has been arrested by officials from the Asokwa Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region.
The chief was arrested for undertaking road works without official authorisation.
Released on bail over the weekend, the Chief defended his actions, citing the authorities' failure to address the severe road conditions plaguing the area.
Nana Addo Boaman explained that his decision was driven by necessity, as the poor state of the roads has led to significant flooding, posing hazards to both motorists and residents.
The persistent road issues have left the Nahinso community, which lies within the Asokwa Municipality and borders the Bosomtwi District and Oforikrom Municipality, in a state of frustration and danger.
For years, residents and motorists in Nahinso have voiced their concerns and appealed for improvements to the deteriorating road network.
Despite their persistent pleas, the issues have remained unresolved.
This lack of action compelled the Chief to take matters into his own hands in an effort to mitigate the hazards and improve the community's infrastructure.
