NYA marks Africa Youth Day with a call to reduce teenage pregnancy
The National Youth Authority (NYA) will from today, November 1, 2021 salute African youth for their contributions towards Africa’s cultural, political, and socio-economic development.
NYA under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports will celebrate this year’s Africa Union Youth Day event with a series of durbar and launch on the theme: ‘Safeguarding the Teenage Girl’ campaign: Training Influencers as Reproductive Health Ambassadors.
The NYA made this announcement in a release signed by its Chief Executive Officer, Pius Enam Hadzide in Accra.
The local theme for this year’s celebration is: “Safeguard Teenage Girls: A Clarion Call to Action.”
According to the statement, there will be activities that will bring the youth and major stakeholders in youth development to formulate strategic interventions to drastically reduce teenage pregnancies in the country.
