Parliament-NCCE partnership: Critical to enhancing civic participation in democratic processes – Bagbin

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has underscored the need to foster strategic partnership with the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in parliament-citizen engagement for greater civic participation in democratic processes.
The speaker made the call when the Chairperson of the Commission, Ms Kathleen Addy, led a 9-member delegation on the courtesy call.
The purpose of the visit was to identify and harness the power of collaboration and prospects that lie between the two institutions.
The discussion also encompassed diverse issues including the background to the establishment of the NCCE before the Fourth Republic, the potential research-based structures and systems available to the Commission, challenges facing the Commission in the effective implementation of its work, and leveraging each other's strength to discharge respective constitutional mandates among others.
