Parliament approves Honyenuga, 3 others for Supreme Court bench
Parliament has unanimously approved the appointment of Justice Clemence Honyenuga and three others to the Supreme Court bench.
The others are Justice Issifu Imoro Tanko Amadu, also a judge of the Court of Appeal; Professor Henrietta Mensa-Bonsu, a law lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ghana, Legon and President of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences; and Mr Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi, a private legal practitioner.
This recommendation was contained in a report presented to the House on Wednesday, 20 May 2020 by the Chairman of the Appointments Committee Mr Joe Osei-Owusu.
The four persons were appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in accordance with Article 144(2) of the 1992 Constitution and on the advice of the Judicial Council and the Council of State for Parliamentary approval.
