The Police killed the suspected robber

One suspect in connection to the Takoradi daylight robbery has been shot dead by the police.

On Wednesday 12 April 2021, 61-year-old Charles Kwakye Agyako was shot dead at Amanful, a suburb of Takoradi in the Western Region by robbers on a motorbike after withdrawing money from a bank.

According to the police, an operation to arrest suspects was organised.

The operation was conducted by a team of officers from the Western Regional Criminal Investigations Department, together with SWAT officers from the Accra Regional command.

The suspects were found at Elmina in the Central Region.

According to the police in their bid to arrest the suspects, a shoot-out ensued.

In the process, one of the suspects, who was identified as Shakki was shot, whilst two others fled.

Police said a hideout was later located and a search was conducted.

The body of the robber has been conveyed to the police hospital morgue for autopsy.

Another suspect identified as Inusah Fuseini was found at the hideout and has been arrested for interrogation.

Meanwhile, the Western Regional Police Command has offered a GHS10,000 bounty to anyone who volunteers information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.
