Policeman found dead at Flagstaff House barracks

A policeman has been found dead in his room at the Flagstaff House police barracks.  Inspector Emmanuel Kofi Nunekpeku’s body was found in his bed in the morning of Friday, 18 June 2021 at about 10:25 am.

The wife of the late Nunekpeku, a policewoman, discovered the husband's body in room 35, Block E.

The wife, Sergeant Faustina Nunekpeku of the Police Hospital’s Public Relations Department, chanced upon the body while visiting.

Accompanied by another police officer, they reported the incident at the Cantonments police station.

The police visited the scene of the incident and inspected the body.

The website of the state-owned Daily Graphic reported that no marks of assault were detected to suggest any foul play.

The body has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
