President Mahama, President Steinmeier hold bilateral talks to deepen cooperation
President John Dramani Mahama on Monday hosted the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, H.E. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, at the Jubilee House for high-level bilateral discussions aimed at strengthening the longstanding partnership between Ghana and Germany.
The talks centred on enhancing economic cooperation, trade, investment, renewable energy development, and technical collaboration, as both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing mutual growth and sustainable development.
President Mahama commended Germany for its continued support toward Ghana’s industrial transformation, renewable energy transition, and youth empowerment initiatives.
He expressed optimism that the renewed cooperation would accelerate job creation and technological innovation across key sectors of the economy.
President Steinmeier, for his part, praised Ghana’s democratic stability and leadership within the subregion, emphasising Germany’s readiness to deepen collaboration in areas such as green energy, vocational training, and digital innovation.
Both leaders also discussed regional security challenges and agreed to work together in promoting peace and stability within West Africa and beyond.
The meeting forms part of broader efforts by both nations to reinforce diplomatic and economic ties, with discussions expected to lead to new agreements in trade, infrastructure, and sustainable development.
Officials from both governments and representatives of the private sector participated in the talks, underscoring the importance of partnership-driven solutions to common challenges.
