Rawlings to be buried Jan. 27
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announced for the information of the Diplomatic Mission in the country that the final funeral rites for former President Jerry John Rawlings will take place between 24 January 2021 and 27 January 2021 in Accra.
The notice issued by the Ministry indicated that Mr Rawlings will be laid-in-state from 24 January 2021 to 26 January 2021 at the foyer of the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) from 9 am to 5 pm daily.
There will be a mass service on 26 January 2021 from 9 am to 11 am at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra.
This will be followed by the burial service on 27 January 2021 from 9 am to 11 am at the Independence Square in Accra.
The funeral of Mr Rawlings was postponed from December 2020 due to misunderstanding between the families.
Mr Rawlings died on Thursday, 12 November 2020 at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital.
