UW/R: Four hacked with machetes in fresh chieftaincy dispute
A violent chieftaincy clash at Sakai in the Sissala East Municipality of the Upper West Region has led to four persons sustaining various degrees of machete wounds.
Calm was restored to the area after a team of police and military personnel visited the area.
The incident which has thrown the community into a state of fear occurred around 4.30 p.m. on Sunday, 12 January 2020.
Sissala East Municipal Police Commander, ASP Stephen Abanga, who confirmed the news indicated that investigations have since begun to arrest the suspects involved in the clash.
Meanwhile, The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sissala, Karim Nanyua together with some security agencies have held an emergency security council meeting on the way forward to resolve the dispute.
