UniMAC-GIJ: Integrated Social Sciences Dept invites New Juaben chief for 2024 ‘Ghana Month’ event
On November 1st, Dr. Kodwo Ansong Boateng, the head of the Department of Integrated Social Sciences at the University of Media, Arts, and Communication - Institute of Journalism (UniMAC - IJ), led a delegation to visit Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III, the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, in Koforidua.
The delegation included lecturers from the department and selected students from the institution.
The purpose of this visit was to request the presence of the Omanhene as the Chairperson of an upcoming project titled 'Ghana Month,' scheduled for March next year.
This initiative aims to celebrate the culture, traditions, and heritage of the Ghanaian people within the university community.
The celebration will span an entire month and feature a series of events designed to educate both teaching and non-teaching staff about various aspects of being Ghanaian and our rich cultural heritage.
The choice of the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area for this role was deliberate, given his impressive track record that aligns with the vision of the project. He is known for proudly representing Ghanaian heritage wherever he goes and for his contributions to the development of the youth and the community.
Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III graciously accepted the invitation to be the special guest of honor for 'Ghana Month.' He expressed enthusiasm about the project, particularly since the celebration coincides with his birthday month, adding an extra layer of jubilation and excitement to the occasion.
