W/R: Diesel tanker explosion burns boy, 2, to death
A toddler was burnt to death on Wednesday at Apremdo in the Western Region’s Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis after two diesel tankers exploded.
The two-year-old boy was left alone in a mobile money vending kiosk by his mother as of the time of the explosion at a gas station which engulfed the entire enclave killing him instantly.
The distraught mother of the boy, according to eyewitnesses, collapsed at the scene after her son was identified as the burnt victim.
Cars, buildings and other nearby structures were shuttered by the explosion.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Fire officials have launched investigations into the incident.
