Wa killings: Regional Minister meets with security chiefs
The Upper West Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) has announced a meeting with security chiefs to find lasting solutions to the recent spate of coordinated gruesome killings in the Wa municipality.
According to the RCC, seventeen innocent people have fallen victim to these killings, which have targeted watchmen on guard duty as well as ordinary citizens.
The meeting, aimed at addressing these rampant killings, will involve security chiefs and focus on devising effective measures to enhance security in the affected areas.
Mr Tahiru Issahaku Momin, the Municipal Chief Executive of Wa, announced this initiative during the 6:00 AM news broadcast on Accra-based Joy FM on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
Mr Momin highlighted that the killings are coordinated, with some of the victims' body parts being taken.
The expected outcome of the meeting is to significantly beef up security in the areas most affected by these heinous crimes.
In a related development, reports from Bole in the Savanna Region indicate that 21 people have also been killed in a similar coordinated manner, raising fears among residents.
These killings also involve the removal of body parts, suggesting a disturbing pattern.
