We will make sure the DRIP intiative materialises-Ahmed Ibrahim

The Local Government Minister-designate, Ahmed Ibrahim, has vowed to ensure the successful implementation of the District Road Infrastructure Programme (DRIP), which aims to improve road networks across the country.
In his statement on Tuesday, January 21, Mr Ibrahim emphasised the importance of the programme in facilitating national development and ensuring better connectivity for rural communities.
“We are committed to ensuring that the DRIP programme materialises and delivers on its promise of enhanced road infrastructure in all districts,” Mr Ibrahim said.
“It is crucial that the equipment and resources allocated to this programme are used for their intended purpose, and we will closely monitor its execution to ensure that roads are built to the highest standards.”
He explained that the DRIP would not only improve transportation but also stimulate local economies by opening up access to markets, healthcare, and education for rural populations.
“The development of quality roads is key to unlocking opportunities for these communities, and we will ensure that the programme achieves its full potential,” he added.
Mr Ibrahim also reassured stakeholders that the ministry would maintain transparency and accountability throughout the process.
“We will collaborate with local authorities and contractors to ensure effective implementation.
The focus will be on maximising the benefits of the DRIP for the people it is designed to serve,” he concluded.
