COVID-19: Bono East records first case

The Bono East Region has recorded its first case of COVID-19, the Director of Public Health at the Ghana Health Service, Dr Badu Sarkodie has disclosed.
“Just a few minutes ago, we had information that Bono East has confirmed a case…,” he said at the Information Ministry’s bi-weekly press briefing on the country’s COVID-19 situation on Thursday, 28 May 2020.
Ghana, recently recorded 186 new cases, bringing the total caseload to 7,303.
Dr Sarkodie stated that recorded cases in Greater Accra total 5,148, Ashanti Region has 1,099 cases, Western Region – 344 cases, Eastern Region recording 117 cases and the Central Region with 360 cases.
The Upper West Region recorded 22 cases and the Upper East Region has 26 cases. The Volta and Northern Regions recorded 59 and 36 cases, respectively.
The Western North Region recorded 62 cases while the North East Region has two cases.
The Oti Region has 26 cases while both Bono and Savannah Regions have one case each.
According to the Ghana Health Service, the number of recoveries has shot up to 2,412 from the initial 2,317.
The number of deaths, however, remain at 34.
