Fujian Provincial People’s Association for Friendship in China has donated facemasks and thermometres to the Greater Accra Region.

The items, which were provided by Provincial People’s Association for Friendship, is to support the region in its fight against COVID-19.

The items were presented to the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ishmael Ashitey by the Charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy of Ghana, ZHU Jing.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy noted that the Greater Accra Region supported Wuhan by donating facemasks when to fight the pandemic.

Fujian Provincial People’s Association for Friendship, thus, decided to donate 16,000 masks and 100 infrared thermometers to support the region in its fight as a sister province to the region in Ghana.

The Greater Accra Region and the Fujian Provincial have maintained close cordial relations since the establishment of sister provinces in 2015.

Fujian enterprises have invested in steel, ceramics, fishery, yam processing, industrial park among others in Ghana.

This has created lots of job opportunities and promoted industrialisation in Ghana.
