Covid-19: GHS to embark on massive sensitisation campaign in Accra

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) is set to commence intensive COVID-19 campaign in the Greater Accra Region following a recent spike in active cases.
The country has recorded 191 new cases taking the national caseload to 56,421 with 1,330 active cases, 54,753 recoveries and 338 deaths.
The numbers started picking up after the Christmas festivities as the GHS reveals statistics show that current infections are mainly in the middle and upper class.
Director General of the Service, Dr Patrick Kuma Aboagye says they will soon begin a rigorous campaign in the Greater Accra Region which is the epicentre of the virus.
He said: “Greater Accra is going to start a massive campaign in all districts to ensure that we ramp up education.
“We’ll also, engage the media to put the message out there that the virus is still out there and people should respect the protocols…”
