Ghana Navy gives Accra Psycho Hosp GHS50K facelift

The Ghana Navy has refurbished a part of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital at a cost of GHS 50,000.

It is aimed at improving shelter for the inmates of the hospital.

The exercise forms part of the 60th-anniversary celebration of the Ghana Navy.

At a brief ceremony to unveil the refurbished building, the Ghana Navy also donated some hospital items to the health facility on Tuesday, 13 August 2019.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Staff Officer at the Naval Headquarters – Burma Camp, Commodore Issah Yakubu said the gesture is part of their humanitarian activities to reach out to the vulnerable in society.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Dr Amma Mpomaa Boadu has called on the government to provide the facility with an ambulance, new laundry machines and other logistics for effective operations.
