Gov’t recruits over 22k health workers
The Graduate Unemployed Nurses and Midwives Association has welcomed moves by the Ministry of Health to recruit 22,063 public health officials into the various health institutions across the country from 2 November 2020.
The announcement was contained in an official statement from the Ministry of Health detailing the recruitment schedule.
Those who will benefit are pharmacists and pharmacy doctors, allied health professionals and 2018 professional nurses with degrees, diplomas and certificates.
National PRO for the graduate unemployed nurses and midwives association, Prince Henry, who spoke to Class News said the recruitment could not have come at a better time.
“I wouldn’t say we are much excited but we are working hand in hand with the ministry so we were expecting that by the end of the day we will get the postings. So we are grateful especially to our GRMA president and the director in charge at the Ministry of Health,” he stated.
Members of the association have been picketing the ministry from time to time demanding financial clearance for employment.
