N/R: TTH CEO asked to step aside over alleged procurement breaches

Health News
TTH has been bedeviled with challenges of maintaining one CEO for years now

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr David Kolbila, has been asked to step aside by the Governing Board of the hospital to enable investigations to be conducted into alleged acts of procurement breaches levelled against him.

The TTH has been bedevilled with challenges of maintaining one CEO for years now.

According to the Governing Board of the TTH, a notice was received from the Public Service Commission in October 2019 with regard to petitions against the former CEO after his recommendation to the Public Service Commission (PSC) for an interview and subsequent confirmation as CEO of the hospital in May 2019.

The interview has, however, been called off while investigations are conducted into the petitions.

To this end, in consultation with the Ministry of Health (MoH), the board has appointed Dr Kareem Mumuni of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the University of Ghana Medical School to act as the interim CEO of the hospital during the period of the investigation.

The board, in a statement, called on all staff of the hospital to give Dr Mumuni the necessary support in the execution of his duties.
