Okoe-Boye visits lekma hospital
The newly-appointed acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye, has visited the Lekma Hospital to learn at first hand issues affecting service providers of the scheme.
The acting NHIS CEO visited Lekma on Monday, 25 April 2022, to interact with the Hospital director ahead of the start of his term of office.
The visit was geared towards understanding the issues that matter to service providers of the NHIA.
The former deputy health minister has been appointed as the acting chief executive officer of the NHIA by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The former Ledzokuku MP’s appointment was announced by the presidency on Thursday, 21 April 2022 in a letter addressed to him.
“Pursuant to Section 14(1) of the National Health Insurance Act, 2012 (Act 852), I am pleased to inform you that the President has appointed you to act as the Chief Executive of the National Health Insurance Authority (the Authority), pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing board of the Authority, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission,” the letter said.
Dr Okoe-Boye’s appointment takes effect on Tuesday, 3 May 2022.
The former lawmaker will take over from Dr Lydia Dsane Selby.
