Six more COVID-19 deaths take Ghana’s death toll to 135
Ghana has recorded 371 new COVID-19 cases taking the country’s total caseload to 23,834.
The number of recoveries/discharges has also increased to 19,212.
Similarly, the death toll is up by six to 135.
There are currently 4,487 active cases.
The latest update on the website of the Ghana Health Service, said: “A total of 371 new cases were reported on July 7, 2020. These are samples that were taken from the period 15 June to 6 July 2020 but reported from the lab on July 7”.
The six deaths include three males and three females.
Two of them exclusive had hypertension as a co-morbidity while one had hypertension together with Chronic Kidney Disease as co-morbidities.
Another two had Puerperal Sepsis and CVA, respectively, as co-morbidities.
The last among them had no co-morbidity.
The youngest among them was 24 and the oldest 71.
Two were in the Northern Region, two in the Central Region and each in Oti and Western Regions.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC
Stay at home, observe social-distancing, avoid handshaking.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, throw the tissue into a closed bin, and then wash your hands.
Always wear a mask, particularly when leaving home.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects or surfaces such as remote controls and doorknobs.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Call the designated health line(s) in your district for necessary assistance or support if you develop fever, cough, or difficulty breathing.
