2024 elections: Register to vote – Mahama urges 18-year-olds
Mr John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is rallying individuals aged 18 and above to actively participate in the upcoming voter registration exercise, underscoring its potential impact on Ghana's future if he assumes the presidency.
Stressing the importance of civic engagement, the former president reiterated the NDC's commitment to bringing about positive change if entrusted with leadership in December.
The Electoral Commission has scheduled May 7th as the start date for voter registration in preparation for the impending polls.
Expressing confidence in the NDC's ability to steer the country towards prosperity if elected, Mr Mahama urged all eligible individuals to ensure they possess a valid voter ID card.
He particularly encouraged newly eligible youth to partake in the registration process using their Ghana card.
"I urge everyone to ensure they have their voter ID card ready. For the youth who recently turned 18, please note that a registration exercise will commence in May. I encourage you to participate using your Ghana card."
