The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said “we expect all stakeholders, especially party executives at the grassroots level, to accept the list [of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives] that will be released in good fate.”

“Every nominee on the list is selected by the President”, Director of Communications Yaw Buaben Asamoa said at a press conference on Friday, 17 September 2021, adding that “we expect the party grassroots executives to trust his judgement and support the approval process for these nominees.

“Of course“, he noted, “not everyone will have their preferred choice, however, we believe that as much as possible, every eligible candidate must have had a fair bite of the election process.”

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo recently presented his list of nominees to the Local Government Ministry for publication.

The list has been long in coming.
