Adongo wins Financial Sector Star of the Year Award
The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has been presented with the NExA 2020 Financial Sector Star of the Year Award.
The award was presented to the lawmaker by the organisers of the Northern Excellence Awards in his office on Wednesday, 18 March 2020.
The award is meant to recognise Mr Adongo’s work in shaping policy and actions by the government and financial sector regulators with constructive criticism and alternative solutions over the years.
Mr Adongo in receiving the award dedicated it to his constituents for the confidence reposed in him and his financial sector peer group for pushing him to get better at his work.
“I am grateful to the leadership and the members of the Finance and the Trade and Industry Committees of Parliament for the support over the years.
“I recognise that this and the numerous awards I have received impose a greater burden on me to work even harder and aim to get better as the years pass by. This is a challenge I have accepted.
“Together with my innate self-motivation, I will continue to pursue excellence and regulatory fairness and effectiveness to restore badly needed confidence in the financial sector,” Mr Adongo stated.
Mr Adongo said his dream is to see a dominant financial sector with globally competitive Ghanaian entrepreneurship. “It is a dream that is possible and will be implemented from January 2021, when President John Dramani Mahama returns to the Flag Staff House for his second and final term as President of our Republic,” he added.
