Akufo-Addo attends Yoweri Museveni investiture
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States, left Ghana on Tuesday, 11 May 2021 to Kampala, capital of the Republic of Uganda, to attend the swearing-in of Mr Yoweri Museveni, President-elect of Uganda.
Mr Akufo-Addo was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, and officials of the Jubilee House and Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The President will return to Ghana on Wednesday, 12 April 2021.
In his absence, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act as president.
