Akufo-Addo congratulates Donald Trump on 'remarkable victory' at US polls

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated US President-elect Donald J. Trump on his victory at the polls.
"Warm congratulations to you on your remarkable victory in the U.S. presidential election, becoming the 47th President of the United States of America," a statement by the president said.
"This achievement speaks volumes about the confidence the American people have placed in you and your vision for their future."
"The friendship between Ghana and the United States has deep roots, built on mutual respect, shared values and a commitment to democracy and freedom," Akufo-Addo highlighted.
"I am hopeful that, under your leadership, this bond will grow even stronger, paving the way for collaboration in addressing some of the world's most pressing challenges, as we did during your first mandate. Together, we can continue to promote peace, prosperity and the dignity of all peoples."
"As you step into this role, know that Ghana stands ready to work alongside you and your administration. We look forward to the exciting opportunities ahead to strengthen our ties and advance the well-being of our peoples," the statement concluded.
"Congratulations once again, and my very best wishes as you and your family embark on this journey."
