National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on party members to close ranks and rally firmly behind President John Dramani Mahama as he delivers on the NDC’s promises to Ghanaians.

Speaking during his Thank-You Tour of the Abirem North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr. Nketia urged members to put aside personal interests and internal disagreements for the greater good of the party and the country.

“In what way can we ensure the party is not put to shame? We will be ashamed if we are unable to fulfil our promises. Fortunately, we have a good president who has already begun delivering,” he stated.

The NDC Chairman praised the progress made under President Mahama’s leadership but emphasised that achieving the party’s full vision would require unity and collective effort.

“What remains is for us to be united as a party and throw our weight behind him so he can complete the task,” he said, warning that divisions and infighting could weaken the party and damage its reputation.

He stressed that internal conflicts borne out of unmet personal ambitions could harm the NDC’s chances of success: “If we start fighting and creating division simply because we didn’t get what we wanted, then when things go wrong, all of us will be affected.”

Mr. Nketia further assured chiefs, elders, and residents of Abirem North that the NDC government, under President Mahama, was committed to delivering on its flagship policies, including the 24-Hour Economy.

On his part, Oberepong Akwasi Amoh Kyeretwie I, Abiremhene and Akyem Kotoku Gyaasehene, commended the NDC government for the steps already taken to improve lives.

He pledged to release land for the construction of a 24-Hour Market in Abirem North, which he said would provide much-needed jobs for the youth.
