Ato Forson acquittal: We’re glad NDC is hailing the courts – NPP

Mr. Kafui Amegah, a member of the Communications Team of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized elements within the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) following the Court of Appeal’s acquittal and discharge of Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
Mr. Amegah pointed out the hypocrisy in the NDC's reaction, noting that the same party had previously described court rulings in the country as 'unanimous FC.'
"We hope this will help bring an end to the NDC’s quest to continuously denigrate the courts," Mr. Amegah stated.
"We are happy the NDC is hailing the ruling.
Today, can they say the same in the Court of Appeal’s 2:1 ruling?"
Mr. Amegah made these remarks while responding to the NDC's claims that the Court of Appeal’s decision is a testament to the country's judiciary living up to the expectations of the general public.
He was speaking on the political discussion segment of the Dwabo morning show, co-hosted by Dr. Desmond Kofi Annan and Hanson Kweku Ofosu, on Accra-based CTV on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
He called on the NDC to desist from politicising court proceedings and stressed the need for respect towards judicial decisions regardless of political affiliations
