Awutu Senya East MP launches “light up Kasoa” to boost security ahead of Christmas
The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency in the Central Region, Madam Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor, has launched the “Light Up Kasoa” initiative aimed at improving security in the constituency as the Christmas festive season approaches.
Speaking to Class News correspondent Samuel Addo at the launch, Mr. Okunor explained that the project will see the installation of 2,500 streetlights across markets, major streets, and trotro stations to help curb criminal activities.
She assured residents that Kasoa remains safe and welcoming during the holiday period.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Seth Sewornu Banini, revealed that additional security measures have been put in place, including deploying more police personnel and working closely with other security agencies to guarantee a crime-free Christmas.
Superintendent Appiah of the Kasoa Divisional Police Command commended the MP for the initiative, noting that improved lighting will help deter criminals and significantly reduce crime in the municipality.
