Bawumia sacks aide who sued NPP over Asawase race
The Office of Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has terminated the appointment of his Director of Political Affairs, Mr Manaf Ibrahim.
The termination takes effect from 30 September 2019.
A letter to that effect signed by Augustine Blay, Secretary to the Vice-President, said notwithstanding the termination, Mr Ibrahim is still under the obligation of the confidentiality undertaken he signed during his employment.
Mr Ibrahim has been directed to return all official equipment, property and documents in his possession to the Office of the Vice-President.
Mr Ibrahim recently secured an interim injunction from the Kumasi High Court to restrain the party from going ahead with Saturday’s Extraordinary Delegates Conference which was meant to endorse Asokore Mampong MCE Alidu Seidu as the parliamentary nominee for the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) in the Asawase Constituency.
The Vetting Committee disqualified Mr Ibrahim from the contest which left Seidu as the sole contender.
