C/R: Ajumako jubilates over Ato Forson’s minority leader elevation
Residents of the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency in the Central Region have described the appointment of Dr Cassiel Ato Forson as the Leader of the Minority caucus in Parliament as an excellent one.
Constituents of Ajumako Enyan Essiam on Tuesday, 24 January 2023, hit the streets to celebrate Dr Forson’s elevation to the position of Minority Leader in Parliament.
According to the residents, in the difficult times in which the country currently finds itself, “we need the expertise of finance persons like Dr Forson to keep the government on its toes.”
Speaking to Class 91.3 FM’s Central Regional Correspondent, Nana Tawiah, Central Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Galahad Alex Andoh thanked the leadership of the NDC, for the honour done Mr Forson.
He also rallied support for the new minority leader.
“We woke up today, we heard the good news. Nobody heard any hint of Honourable Ato Forson being catapulted into becoming [ing] the Minority Leader today. Even yesterday, I spoke with him, and he never told me. Everyone in Ghana should repose confidence in Honourable Ato Forson. He will assist the party to win the 2024 elections, in the new portfolio he’s been given.
“In all the capacities that he has served, he has not let Ajumako Enyan down,” Mr Andoh lauded.
He stressed that Dr Forson has performed well in every role he has been assigned to and hence will do well in his new position as minority leader.
“When he was named as the Deputy Minister of Finance, people doubted his confidence but he did it. I’m happy with this one; nobody is doubting him and if anybody is in doubt that Dr Ato Forson can perform, he should go and look at the portfolio he holds and how he has been able to deal with it".
“He’s one candidate, that in Ajumako Enyan Essiam, his votes increase every four years, it doesn’t come down,” the Central Regional Communications Officer of the NDC continued.
He added: “I know that Dr Ato Forson will deliver to the expectation of the National Democratic Congress.”
