CIHOG congratulates John Dramani Mahama
The Coalition for Islamic Humanitarian Organizations Ghana (CIHOG) has extended heartfelt congratulations to John Dramani Mahama following his victory in the 2024 general election, in which he was declared the President of the Republic of Ghana on December 9, by the Electoral Commission.
The commendation comes after Mahama, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), emerged as the clear winner, surpassing his political rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a statement issued under the leadership of Sheikh Hidir Idris Adam, the Executive Committee and members of CIHOG expressed their congratulations and well wishes for a successful second term as President of Ghana. The Coalition, which represents Ghanaian Muslim humanitarian organizations, called on Mahama to lead with fairness and firmness and urged him to be cautious of hypocrisy within the political space.
The message, signed by Sulemana Alhassan Atakpo, Administrator of CIHOG, emphasized the full support of the Muslim community for President Mahama and conveyed good wishes for his re-election as he embarks on his mission to further develop the country.
