Central Region NDC secretary disowns circulating statement on security service slots
The Central Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Gabriel Nii Kommey Adams, has issued a strong disclaimer distancing himself and the Regional Party Secretariat from a statement circulating on social media regarding the alleged allocation of security service slots to the party in the Central Region.
In a statement dated Wednesday, January 7, 2026, and issued from the NDC Central Regional Secretariat in Cape Coast, Mr Adams said his attention had been drawn to a message circulating on WhatsApp platforms with the caption: “Disclaimer & Directives for: Fair and Equitable Allocation of Security Services Slots Given to the Central Region NDC by the Minister of Interior through the revered Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah.”
Mr Adams categorically denied authorship or knowledge of the statement, urging party members and the general public to treat it “with the contempt it deserves.”
He stressed that neither the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Panyin Eduamoah, nor the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka, had ever engaged him on matters relating to security service protocols or tasked him to issue any statement on such a subject.
According to him, no information regarding any security services allocation protocol had ever come to his attention in his capacity as Regional Secretary.
The Regional Secretary further alleged that the circulation of the statement was a deliberate attempt by “unscrupulous or desperate individuals” to damage his reputation for political gain.
He claimed that intelligence available to him points to the Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Mr Richard Kofi Asiedu, as being behind what he described as an “evil orchestration,” allegedly arising from internal disagreements.
Mr Adams defended his record within the party, describing his loyalty, dedication and commitment to the NDC as “indisputable and uncontested” since joining the party in 2004.
He concluded by formally disassociating himself from the circulating statement and its contents, reiterating that it did not emanate from him or the Central Regional Secretariat.
