Cheddar unveils 10-year plan to create 8 million jobs in Ghana
Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, and the leader of the New Force Movement, has revealed a plan to create 8 million jobs in Ghana over the next decade.
This initiative seeks to address the country’s unemployment crisis and drive economic growth by leveraging strategic investments in key sectors, including industries, mineral resources, and agriculture.
Speaking at the launch of the New Force Movement’s "12 Pillars for Economic Revolution" in Accra on Sunday, 1 September 2024, Cheddar presented his vision for a diversified economy that maximizes Ghana’s natural resources and industrial potential.
“We start by making sure that we invest in all the 16 regions that are industrial, plant to be able to refine all our minerals, and then processing plants to be able to process all our agro plants,” he explained.
Cheddar underscored the immense untapped potential of Ghana’s natural resources.
“Our research on attribution reserve shows that gold, iron ore, gas, bauxite, lithium, diamond, and the potential of agro-processing, and all the arable lands in the country amounts to USD2.5 trillion… We are determined to bring out every region’s wealth… Ghana will have an economic output at USD4.7 trillion… We will also create 8 million jobs in a decade," he stated.
The plan outlines significant investments in refining minerals and processing agricultural products across all 16 regions, aiming to create diverse job opportunities for Ghanaians of all skill levels and educational backgrounds.
