Though “near completion,” the Jean Mensa-led Electoral Commission (EC) “has suspended the printing of presidential ballot papers” in view of the “unfortunate passing” of Madam Akua Donkor.
A farmer and politician, the founder and presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor, passed on Monday, October 28, 2024. She was pronounced dead at the Ridge Hospital, Accra, having been transferred there from the Nsawam Government Hospital.
According to her last child, the head of family will in due time explain the circumstances surrounding Madam Donkor’s shocking passing. She was 72.
In its Tuesday, October 29, statement, signed by its Deputy Chairman (Operations), Samuel Tettey, the EC prayed: "May she rest in peace."
