Dec. 7 polls: Mahama to file nomination Sept. 9

The flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, is set to officially submit his nomination forms to contest the upcoming general elections on Monday, 9 September 2024.
Spokesperson for Mr. Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, who disclosed this, stressed the importance of the filing and the campaign's emphasis on national unity and economic transformation.
“This is a momentous occasion for the NDC as we gear up to build the Ghana we want together. Our campaign focuses on jobs, accountability, development, and a better future for all Ghanaians," the NDC flagbearer’s spokesperson said.
Before the nomination submission, Mr. Mahama will embark on a four-day tour of the Bono Region starting Sunday, 8 September 2024.
Dubbed the #Mahama4Change2024 tour, the former president will visit all 12 constituencies in the region, engaging with traditional and religious leaders and connecting with communities at the grassroots level.
The tour will include a visit to the Bono Regional House of Chiefs and a youth forum at the Sunyani Technical University, where Mahama is expected to outline his plans for revitalizing the economy and creating jobs through innovative policies.
