Dormahene urges Mahama to stay resolute in anti-corruption fight

The President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs and Dormamanhene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Fredua Agyemang Badu II, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to remain steadfast in his commitment to fighting corruption and ensuring accountability in public office.
Speaking in response to the recent arrest of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako—popularly known as Chairman Wontumi—by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), the revered traditional leader underscored the importance of prosecuting those found to have misused public funds or engaged in corrupt practices.
“Mr. President, this is the time to demonstrate your resolve. Do not waver in holding accountable any official of the previous administration who is found to have caused financial loss to the state,” Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II stated.
He also used the occasion to remind President Mahama of his promise to establish a second campus of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in Nsuatre.
According to the Dormahene, fulfilling this commitment would significantly enhance access to higher education in the Bono Region.
Additionally, he appealed for increased government investment in the Bono Regional Hospital.
