Ejisu: Kwabena Boateng elected NPP Parliamentary candidate
The former Second Vice Chairman for the Ejisu Constituency, Kwabena Boateng, has polled overwhelming votes to win the parliamentary primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ejisu Constituency of the Ashanti region.
He garnered 393 votes to beat his closest contestant, Madam Helena Mensah, the Presiding Member of the Ejisu Municipal Assembly, who had 302 and other eight contestants to win the primary.
Other contestants including Madam Yaa Aboagye had 229 votes, Dr. Evans Duah, 61; Kwesi Nyantakyi, 35; Lawyer Portia Acheampong Abronye, 6; Clinsman Karikari, 2; Aaron Prince Duah, 2; and Abena Pokua Amoah, 0.
The NPP held the primary to elect a candidate for the party to contest in the by-election scheduled for April 30, after the death of the MP for the area, John Kumah.
