Former Binduri MP delivers development projects despite election defeat

Despite losing his seat in the 2024 general elections, former Member of Parliament for the Binduri Constituency, Abdullai Abanga, remains committed to the development of his community.
He continues to oversee the completion of projects initiated during his tenure, ensuring they are opened for public use.
These projects, which span key sectors such as potable water, education, healthcare, and sanitation, aim to enhance the livelihoods of residents. One of the latest initiatives is a six-seater ultramodern W/C toilet facility with a mechanized water system at the Bazua Market.
Bazua Market, one of the largest trading hubs in the Binduri District, has long struggled with inadequate sanitation facilities, forcing traders and residents to resort to open defecation.
The newly opened facility, constructed at an estimated cost of nearly GHC400,000, is expected to address these challenges and significantly improve hygiene standards in the market.
During the opening ceremony, traders expressed immense relief and gratitude for the much-needed project.
"We appreciate the former MP for his commitment and selfless support.
This project means a lot to us, as we have struggled for years without a proper place to ease ourselves," a trader remarked.
District Deputy Coordinating Director, Mr. Kipo Alhassan, emphasized the significance of the facility, stating, "This toilet will serve at least 400 people in the area daily.
We urge beneficiaries to maintain it well to ensure its long-term use."
He also commended the former MP for his unwavering dedication to the well-being of his constituents, adding that such efforts set a precedent for sustained development beyond political office.
Speaking to the media, Abdullai Abanga reaffirmed his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents despite no longer being in office. "Livelihood empowerment is key to improving the well-being of my people.
Despite my tenure as MP ending, I remain committed to supporting the constituency with the little resources I have," he stated.
He further disclosed that two additional toilet facilities of similar capacity are currently under construction in different parts of the district, each costing close to GHC400,000.
The opening ceremony attracted a large crowd, including youth, women, and elderly residents, all expressing their appreciation for the new facility.
Bazua Chief, Naaba Asuguru, extended heartfelt gratitude to the District Assembly and the former MP for their initiative.
"This project is a great relief for our people. We thank Abanga for his foresight and the Assembly for ensuring its completion," he remarked.
Abdullai Abanga's continued contributions to development, even after leaving office, highlight his dedication to the progress of the Binduri Constituency.
