GHA endorses Raphael Ayitey in AGI presidency race
The Ghana Hotel Association has unequivocally endorsed Raphael Mawuenyega Kojo Ayitey, Chief Executive Officer of Coconut Grove Hotels, in his bid to become President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI).
In a press release issued on Monday, November 10, 2025, the GHA praised Raphael Ayitey for consistently exhibiting exceptional and forward-thinking leadership over the years.
It highlighted his substantial contributions to the advancement of Ghana’s hospitality sector, asserting that his ascension to the AGI presidency would allow him to leverage his expertise, networks, and insights for the broader benefit of Ghanaian industries.
The GHA further emphasised that Raphael Ayitey has been a steadfast pillar of support for both the association and the AGI for more than two decades.
“Ayitey’s contributions to the AGI and the hospitality sector, including the Ghana Hotels Association, have been exemplary. His leadership is collaborative, innovative, and rooted in integrity and measurable outcomes.
He has spearheaded initiatives that advance local procurement, employment generation, youth development, and sustainable industrial progress—fully aligned with the AGI’s mandate to bolster Ghanaian enterprise.
“As a strategic and results-driven leader, Mr. Ayitey is dedicated to securing the AGI’s financial autonomy, enhancing secretariat efficiency, and expanding market opportunities for members,” the statement declared.
The GHA added that, having progressed through the AGI’s hierarchy, Mr. Ayitey possesses the acumen and experience required to fundamentally reshape the organisation and elevate its standing.
The AGI elections are set for Thursday, November 27, 2025, during the association’s Annual General Meeting.
