Hungarian President in Ghana to deepen relations
On Thursday, 13 January 2022, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo welcomed the President of Hungary, János Áder, to Ghana and to Jubilee House, the seat of Ghana’s Presidency.
The visit by President Áder is a landmark one, as it is the first time since the fall of communism that a President from Hungary is paying a state visit to Ghana.
The purpose of the visit by the Hungarian President, according to Nana Akufo-Addo, is to re-affirm the ties of co-operation and the bonds of friendship that Ghana and Hungary attach to their relations with each other.
Ghana and Hungary have collaborated effectively on several matters over the years.
A major outcome of the meeting between Nana Akufo-Addo and President Áder was the reaffirmation of their commitment to collaborate further and provide mutual support at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
President Áde will be in Ghana until 16 January 2022.
He is accompanied by his wife Anita Herczegh.
